In a sign that confidence may be returning to the market, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) said that it would lift suspension of initial public offerings (IPOs) on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges as of June 5. The CSRC released draft guidelines for new issues so that issue prices may reflect market demand and lead underwriters avoid "unreasonably" high prices.

Bank Of America holds about 16.7% amounting to 30 million shares in China Construction Bank (601939). At current prices, the stake is worth RMB 141 Bln or USD 21 Bln. Under a share release agreement, BOA can sell 13.5 bln shares at any time without requiring further approval from authorities.

It is rumoured that BOA is preparing to sell these shares soon.
